Aditya Srivatsan has been a disciple of Guru Pandit Shantilal Shah since 2003, and has had the opportunity to attend Tabla workshops conducted by Padma Vibhushan Ustad Zakir Hussain and Taal Yogi Pandit Suresh Talwalkar.
He was selected as a 2014 Indian Raga Fellow and also won first place in the 2012 Cleveland Thyagaraja Music Festival for both the Tabla Solo and Accompaniment competitions. He has had the honor of accompanying Neyveli Sri. R. Santhanagopalan as well as Sri Vittal Ramamurthy and has performed extensively in the US as well as in Chennai, India.
Aditya also plays Western Classical Violin and is a member of the Stanford Symphony Orchestra.
Anuraag is a disciple and the son of Pt. Shantilal Shah. He started playing the Tabla at the age of 3 and has been learning under his Guru and father ever since. He has had the opportunity to attend Tabla workshops held by Taal Yogi Pandit Suresh Talwalkar and Padma Vibhushan Ustad Zakir Hussain.
In 2010, Anuraag was honored to perform Tabla solo the Guru Poornima celebration of Taal Yogi Pandit Suresh Talwalkar ji. He has also been blessed to accompany renowned vocalists Pt. Suman Ghosh ji, Sangeet Martand Pt. Jasraj ji.
Jason has been a disciple of Pt. Shantilal Shah since 2007, and since 2010 has stayed with Guruji and his family in the Guru-Shishya Parampara unique to Indian music.
The Gurukul environment has not only enriched his knowledge and skill of Tabla but also exposed him to the rich vocal music of Northern India due to the guidance of Smt. Aparna Shah, a learned and accomplished classical vocalist in her own right, and wife of Pt. Shantilal Shah. Jason has grown deeply committed to Tabla and to the music and culture that surrounds it and is inseparable from the study of Tabla.
In 2014, Jason performed with Shunya Theatre in their highly regarded production of Bhopal, a play about the 1984 Union Carbide disaster in Bhopal, India. In January of 2015, Jason performed a traditional Tabla solo for a private audience at Jade Garden Holistic Healing Center, and has given performances/demonstrations for schools in San Antonio and Houston. Recently, Jason accompanied Smt. Aparna Shah for a vocal performance during a gathering of international dignitaries at the home of Indian Consul General, Mr. Parvathaneni Harish.
Arun has learned under the tutelage of Guru Pandit Shantilal Shah since 2005. He cherishes the exposure that Guruji and Hindustani Classical Music has brought, cultivating the best qualities in his life.
Arun has had multiple opportunities to perform in Houston over the past few years and in 2015 gave a Tabla solo performance for a student concert hosted by IMS Houston.
